NSH declines.

1. NSH is not the destination for Marner, even though I think he would do well there. He just isn't going to get the contract he wants in NSH, even though there is the tax difference stuff. At most Marner would get a little more than Forsberg, which would be what he is getting paid now. He won't get 13mil in NSH.

2. Saros isn't going to sign that deal you proposed. Saros's extension is going to be closer to 8 mil for as long as possible, likely 7-8 years. If you only want to sign him for 6 years, it will likely by 8.5 mil. Saros will just walk in free agency if that is the best you offer.

Forsberg had more points on a worse team which is hilarious. Marner is a coddled baby and is going to want at least close to, if not more, than what he's making. Would be a bad look to bring in a new guy to make more than our leaders.

Nashville would do it if they could then flip marner for a center. This is the only way it makes sense for Nashville. Noone will trade a young center for Saros. Maybe they will for marner
