IMO, Ottawa easily decline. KK is a cap dump and Necas wants 7+ mil to be a 55 point per year player (in other words, he wants to be the next KK, an overpaid over hyped middle 6 player)

Necas is a good 2nd liner just stuck on a team that doesnt unlock his full potential.

Kotkaniemi would be a full time 3C with Greig and Joseph

I don't think Necas is 2nd line material, he has had 1 fruitful season in 5 full NHL seasons. Ironically, his ice time, play style and yearly points break down is exactly the same as Max Domi's (right down to the season where he put up 70+ points, Domi was 24, Necas was 24) would you consider this package if it was Domi (at 25) + KK for Norris + Chychrun? Personally I wouldn't, but that's just me.

Ottawa says no.

Norris for Necas is fine.

Chychrun for Kotkaniemi is a catastrophe.

Holy get a life jesus

I'm just letting you know you bias is definitely showing and Chychrun and Norris really don't have the value you think. Chychrun a ufa to be (Ottawa overpaid) and Norris 8m for 30 points with major injuries. Ik you as an Ottawa fan want to believe he has as much value as possible

and Kotkaniemi is a cap dump. Necas is a polarizing forward.

Youre only looking at this from the Anti-Sens bias

It doesn't make a difference IMO.

Kotkaniemi is a soft depth forward that is occasionally a healthy scratch while Norris can score 35 goals in a season if healthy.

It is way too early to consider a buyout for Norris.

Nope looking at it from value Chychrun could leave in 1 year that's a fact and Norris has injuries that make him a heavy risk. Necas may be polarizing but he's an rfa with team control and kotkaniemi may be a cap dump but every year that goes by its one less year and 1 more year for him to be better as he is only 23. So not I'm not anti sens but looking at the trade beyond 1 year and how it impacts teams in like 5 years

Carolina is in win now mode. Their prospect pool is what they care about 5 years from now. This trade doesnt even touch their prospect pool.

Yeah but has them take a risk on Norris and can lose Chychrun in a year and that's just a fact. Look at Kotkaniemi stats last year if he rebounds to 40 points this is horrible for Carolina. Like they trade away 2 players with team control for 2 risks like it doesn't make sense yk.

Kotkaniemi may have bad this year but remember the guy is only 23 and had 40 plus points last year. He has room to improve and I'd bet a lot that he does better next year than this year. So he may be a cap dump in your eyes but he's got time and he is a healthy player

So you're anti canes then because looking at kotkaniemi 2022-2023 compared to 2021-2022 there was major improvement. One down year for a 23 year old really is grasping at straws buddy.

Frankly this trade just doesn't make sense for either team.

Carolina doesn't need Chychrun in the slightest with Orlov, Nikishin, and Skjei already on their left side. And I don't think they should be taking such a risk on Norris when they are in such a win now mode. If Norris gets moved, it would make sense for him to go to a team that is retooling and can be patient with him.

Also, I don't think the Sens should move him. It probably won't be a couple years until he's back to his usual self but I'm willing to wait because he's an incredible 2-way sniper. He will be a very good player again and if we move him to clear cap in a year we won't even be all that competetive in it will come back to haunt us.

As for Ottawa, I don't see why we would want Kotkeniemi. He's not all that, is making too much, and we are already deep down the middle. And Necas would just be more of what plagued us this season. He's a good player, don't get me wrong, but he's not strong defensively and we need more veterans. We shouldn't be spending cap on 1-way wingers. We really need some solid, hard to play against 2-way veterans that make like 2-4 mil ish.

We should just trade Chychrun for a solid veteran and a pick to replenish our prospect pool and hang on to Norris.

Brannstrom to Carolina for Fast would be a more sensable trade.

Im with ya here, I can see necas just exploding in a line up where he's let off the leash.

I like Norris’ fit if he can stay healthy. Its kinda risky considering his health concerns but I really like him as a player. Chychrun could work if he plays RD. We don’t really need a top 4 LHD but if he can play the right side maybe there’s something here.
