Tampa Bay declines. Value isn't bad but Tampa has better options to trade away to create cap space.

I've never understood the fascination with Cirelli. He's a fine player, but that contract is so long and too high for the offense he brings.

Sheary has a ntc. Also you'd have to replace all 3 players. Also they don't get anywhere near the return cirelli does

In 2 years that's going to be one of the better contracts in the league horrendous asset management maybe if Cirelli had 2 years not 7

Its not a bad contract at all.

But there is a salary cap and tampa seems to have plateaued. Not suggesting its a sell off, but they should probably move someone and retool (not rebuild). Adding the 11th overall pick, a 2nd and krebs allows them to inject youth into this aging roster and keep everyone else.

11oa hit and miss 7 of the 20 11OA FROM 1999-2018 played less than 100 NHL GAMES Another 4 in the 100-200 that's 55% less than 200gp lottery ticket 2nd round even more so. Cirelli's coming off his best offensive production year and is in his prime. BAD. He plays against Barkov,Mathews, Thompson Stutzle, Crosby every night.

I got about fifty feet out and suddenly, the great beast appeared before me.

I tell you, he was ten stories high if he was a foot.

As if sensing my presence, he let out a great bellow.

I said, "Easy, big fella!"

And then, as I watched him struggling, I realized that something was obstructing its breathing.

From where I was standing, I could see directly into the eye of the great fish.

Mammal.

Whatever.

Agreed 100%. If he played on any other team with those stats, the narrative around him would be totally different. He's still a good player though but being part of that back to back cup core is carrying him a little.

Sheary has a m-ntc starting this offseason where he can be dealt to half the league. Replacing 3 meh players isn't an issue, and Tampa will still save 2.5-3 million moving them. They'll have ~17.5 million in space if they move all 3(before adding in replacement costs), and they likely won't care that much about the return as the added space is more valuable.

Replacing Cirelli is far more difficult, and they aren't getting another top 6 player for much cheaper than what Cirelli costs. He's slightly overpaid, but with the cap increasing, his contract should look.bwtter and better as the years go on. Even if Tampa was listening to offers on him(which I doubt), a magic bean draft pick, a 2nd and a 4th liner isn't it. Tampa should be looking to add on the blueline, where they have been struggling ghe past couple of seasons. If a team offered up.a legit top 4 dman(preferably an RD) as the main piece in the deal, perhaps Tampa would have some interest. Otherwise, it should be a hard pass from Tampa.
