Meh - it's likely to be your 2026 first round pick too - a lot of things can go wrong. FLA will have important decision this summer and the next. Half their team is UFA/RFA.

This AGM is more about getting some previsability for the GM.

Actually no, FLA is already giving the Flames their 25' pick. Since FLA had the 24' pick lottery protected from another trade(Tarasenko maybe?).

MTL gets the better of the 2 x 25' picks CGY has, unless CGY's pick is in the top 10(most likely scenario), in which case they get the FLA pick.

That hasn't been decided yet. It's the condition from the Tkachuk trade, and its dependent on if FLA make the playoffs next season. If FLA miss the playoffs, they keep their 2025 1st and give CGY their 2026 1st.


EDIT: I said this in another thread yesterday, but if you're a Habs fans just wanting to know what to cheer for with all the confusing conditions of the Monahan trade, do this:

#1 - Cheer for both CGY and FLA to have terrible seasons and miss the playoffs, and hope CGY doesn't get 1st overall. MTL probably ends up with a top 5-10 pick here.
#2 - If FLA are playing well, cheer for CGY to finish with the 11th overall pick after the 2025 draft lottery.
