I was not saying "the last piece" as in "here comes the cup," I was referring to pretty much everyone, including several players and Shero himself, that they are looking to add on defense. I think the Wild trade is somewhat fair, give or take a few pieces (outside of Henrique for Brodin, the extras are dispensable.)
And do I wish Lou was still running the team? Hell no. He was garbage his last few years, with the Schneider trade/deal as the last good move by him. Close deal (4.85x5), Ryder, Brunner, Cammalleri (good player but too injury prone for the contract) Zajac contract (5.75x8), letting DeBoer play Brodeur over Schneider, Volchenkov contract (4.25x6!!!), letting parise walk, Kovalchuk fiasco, (2010 was a tire fire offseason).
Honestly his best move outside of Schneider was (finally) firing Deboer and trading Jagr for a 2nd/3rd, which we then directly swapped for Kyle Palmieri a few months later.
Shero has been amazing in nearly every way and I have almost no complaints. Larsson for Taylor Hall, 2nd/3rd for Marcus Johansson, and the same price for Palmieri in 3 consecutive offseason. And now Nico as well.
Dint worry, the Lou we all know and love will hit the Leafs soon enough. In fact, I think its already starting with that Marleau deal. 3 years??? Good luck. And want the leafs to succeed.
