1. Hire David Carle, who has shown that he can maximize the production of Junior and Collegiate prospects while also winning games.

2. Acquire an elite, right shot defenseman to anchor the top four with Byram, Dahlin and Power.

3. Explore trading Jeff Skinner with significant retention (35-50%) in order to free up some minutes for young forward prospects.

People say this every off season on this site and then a team offers a 1st for him and proves none of you actually watch Laughton or know what ur talking about lol.

weve watched 13 years of failure. If theres one thing sabres fans are keenly attuned to, its players who suck. Laughton aint it dude. More power to y'all if you can get a first for him. I hope its not from the Sabres.

That would be highway robbery if Danny got a 1st for him, but that's a huge overpayment for a bottom six player who is bad at hockey

If not one of the center prospects or krebs, someone like Sam Bennett potentially.

Yeah it often works out hilariously for the GMs lol. It's amazing how many times fans are told they don't know anything by others who blindly appeal to authority. This was huge when analytics was first gaining traction in the NHL. "Your numbers don't mean anything!" .

Well, every NHL team has an analytics department now. If you think Laughton is great that's fine. Maybe I am wrong. But appealing to authority isn't going to sway me. Most GMs have really awful decision making processes.

I don’t think Laughton is very good nor worth a 1st lol. All I’m trying to say is dumb GMs continue to offer 1sts for him. Simple as that, and as long as there are dumb GMs someone will still come along and offer a 1st for Laughton.

Fact: GMs have offered 1st rounders for Laughton for 3 straight years

Fact: The Flyers have declined because they value Laughton more than they do a late 1st round pick because his stabilization of the locker room over the last 2 years has taught the young players how to be pros and set a lot of cultural issues straight which they very much value more than his meh play on the ice.

Sabres could probably use a player like that for their locker room but don’t really need him for his product on the ice. If you wanna keep arguing about it u can argue with a wall cause it’s really not that hard to comprehend

Why would Florida trade him? And Kulich isnt a center and Im not sure Savoie should play center in his first year ever. Plus we are so bad a faceoffs do we really want another rookie taking faceoffs. Krebs and Laughton can both play 3-4C.

Because they need to make room to resign other players like reino and Montour. Kulich has been in the center position for the amerks. No clue what they actually do with savoie next season. Laughton isn't an upgrade over anyone in reality. Faceoffs don't make up for how bad he is.
