I honestly don't hate this trade. Pulock is basically RD2 now with Dobson being a guy I can see getting a handful of Norris votes this year; if we can swap him out for a young, top-6 forward like Perfetti while also getting someone to backfill RD2 for a year, I think it's a good deal. I'd think about swapping Nate Schmidt instead of Pionk, for two reasons: first, hoping that it makes it appetizing enough to Winnipeg to drop the 3rd from the Isles side; second, I think Schmidt replicates what the Isles would be losing with Pulock better than Pionk does. But that's a minor quibble at this point.

Im fairly certain, swapping Schmidt for Pionk would make WPG need to send you additional assets back, not just remove the 3rd. Its a pretty vast difference between Pionk's value and Schmidts. Whether or not he's the player that fits better.

Why wouldn't they just trade McNabb? He's six years older then Whitecloud, only has a 5 team no trade list so should be easy for them to find a taker for him.
