Interesting prospect the only knock on him seems to be his skating.

I think he could be a sneaky pickup. Sorta like C. Eiserman in that both really good at scoring but with Ziemmer not having the best of skating, Eiserman lacks the defense. Plus he's an Alberta kid so could want to stay with the team.

Yeah though a minor drawback is being from Mayerthorpe he probably grew up an oilers fan.

I like it. At this point I don't think the Flames should expect much better than this for Marky.

Markstrom is 34, has a $6M cap hit, and can't break above a .905 AV% averaged over the last two years.

The Kings were able to pick up better statistical goaltending bargain hunting for vets at a 1/3 of his cap hit combined (Talbot + Rittich = #$1.875M).

If the Kings are giving up high picks they want an Ullmark type of player coming back, otherwise they will go back to the vet well and wait for Portillo and Ingham who have looked very good.
