Did I miss a memo where old bottom six players are all of sudden worth top prospects?

Due to their cap situation, the Kings could only acquire Markstrom if they lose Matt Roy in free agency and even then, they won't want to send a near-League-minimum-contract player (which Turcotte is) back -- more likely is someone who is getting squeezed out, like Blake Lizotte or even Carl Grundstrom. All in all, I think that there are too many variables here for this kind of trade to take place before July 1, which means that the 2024 first-round draft pick isn't in play.

That is absolutely right. I think the Kings shall prioritize Lizotte over Grundstrom. I feel like Lizotte was a tougher loss, when he was injured. He is palying very good lately, also last night against the Flames.
Anyhow, I think the Kings shall not go for Markstrom, who will turn 35 next season. Maybe it's too risky. Maybe a a goalie liek Nedeljkovic can be a good, cheaper fit, with Rittich as a beakup maybe.

I am not against Magiapane, but he is underperforming for his 5.8 Mil AAV cap hit the last two seasons - so as you said, the Kings are not able to get both players, maybe a Mangiapane deal can be workable, if the Flames retain

Ah yes, the world where the cap doesn't matter.

So you want to send out nearly 12mil in cap and get our best center prospect and a 1st round pick for the Kings' troubles? Gonna be a quick and hard, "No thanks." even if LA had the space, which they don't.
