Until Landeskog plays a seasons worth of hockey to show that he's fully recovered and still is the player he was after two years off, no one's paying for what could be a 7 million dollar LTIR frequent flyer.

Not to mention his full NMC.

No one is trading for Landeskog when they don’t know if he’ll ever play again

Sabres pass easily
And UPL is basically untouchable at this point anyways

Why do you keep saying this player is untouchable or that player will never be traded. Very few on the Sabres should feel safe, and we saw how your Mitts theory unfolded.

The first trade for the sens could make sense but the second one I would stray away from as ottawa

Mitts was traded bc his situation changed
Once Adams felt like he couldn’t get him signed- THEN, he became available

What could make UPL available?
I suppose contract demands, but as of RIGHT NOW, there’s no logical reason that Adams would move UPL
But sure, the situation could change
Until it does, he’s going nowhere

LOC at $1.05M with his pk I g is worth a LOT more than that and more valuable to COL than either Duhaime or Trenin.

Nobody is trading for Landy and the only way the Avs would trade him would be if he requested it.

There are maybe 5% of the players in the league that are untouchable but in this case I'll agree with @AntiAnalytics, UPL is untouchable until Levi proves he is ready to be our #1 goalie or a top veteran goalie is coming back in return for UPL. Right now I don't think UPL is going anywhere but we'll see this off season what the contract looks like in terms of term and money...that may be a telling sign what Adams is thinking long term

I mean, substitute whatever word you’re comfortable with
The bottom line- and we all KNOW it- is that the Sabres are absolutely not trading UPL
*not unless drastic changes dictate such move, and that’s extremely unlikely

Never said he would be traded, but it's not out of the Question. Really depends on the offseason

That's why I said I think his contract will give us a hint what the future holds. If they d*ck him around like they did Reino he's close to gone after next year.
What would you do, sign him to free agency or do you buy a year of free agency.

I think he signs a 1 year Deal, I fully expect Levi to take the net over at some point next year.

I’d be comfortable giving UPL a 3year deal,
something in the range of $9-10mil total

Then bring in a decent Vet backup to support UPL and to allow Levi to develop as the unquestioned #1 in Rochester
No need to rush Levi, and dumb to keep jerking him back n forth between us & AHL
Last thing we need to do is ruin the kid bc we can’t provide him a stable environment

And hopefully, within the next few years we see UPL & Levi develop into another Biron & Miller situation,
where one is good, but the other fully establishes himself as the unquestioned #1 for us, becoming a true “franchise” goalie

I’d see that as MUCH more ideal, than to “rush” Levi back into the starting lineup as some would (stupidly) suggest
Haven’t we learned our lesson from doing that ?
