I'm a Rangers fan. I'm not asking for anything.
a) citing +/- as statistic basically disqualifies that post anyway
b) the Rangers NEED to get rid of Staal bad more than COL needs to get rid of Söderberg, so they will have to pay up for it.
c) Gropp is the throw in to fill up COLs prospect system with longshot NHL players. theirs sucks even worse than NYRs
d) I'd really like a source on the Halverson projection.[/quote]
a) how does stating a factual, tracked statistic disqualify anything? So do goals and assists not count either? How would you like to measure the player? Because in every measurable way he was horrible, which was the point...not sure how saying anything about +/- changes that.
b) based on the fact that colorado isn't going anywhere anytime soon, I will give you that the Rangers would like to move Staal more. But the basis for the whole question was just how much you are saying should be given up to rid themselves of him. and it still doesn't change the fact that colorado would love to unload Soderberg. I would again argue that Staal does more for them than Soderberg does...but that's an opinion.
c) being a self professed Ranger fan, you should know how they rate Gropp. If colorado's system is worse than ours, then how does that make Gropp just a throw in? in doing a quick search on just about every site that rates hockey prospects, Gropp is rated about equal with previous players like Duclair, Buchnevich, Lindberg...on and on. Is that a guarantee? Of course not, but a throw in? Stop..
d) your turn to search, first one was on me. In either case, being a Ranger fan you should already know, pretending you don't doesn't prove anything. Is he their highest rated goalie prospect, no he isn't. That doesn't mean he should be valued less because of it. He would instantly be the top rated goalie prospect for about 10-15 teams around the league, doesn't sound like a throw in to me.
Oh...I forgot...and a first rounder? lol the first rounder BY ITSELF would get Staal moved...hence what's wrong with you?
On the subject of being a Ranger fan, that makes it all explainable now. It's your blinding hatred for Staal that would cause you to move just about anything to see him go. On that we can finally agree, he needs to go!
