Isles save $4.9m for two years then have an extra two years of $2.1 x 2 remaining. Gaudreau has 4g-9a-13pt in 55gp.

Islanders will/should not renew Martin/Clutterbuck's contracts, so there will be space in the bottom 6 for Gaudreau. Pageau could also be dealt.

MIN can easily fit Lee in next year. Then after 24-25, the buyout costs for Parise/Suter drop off for an additional $14m in space.

Lee comes back to his home town then extends to a lesser number after his current deal expires. Isles make this move to shuffle their top-6

Are you not accounting for the cap increase? I literally looked at them before posting this, they have the space.

No they would not be interested in this, too much for a 34 year old winger on pace for 35 points

Total cumulative cap hit for Gaudreau is 8.4M, for Lee it's 14M. Even if Gaudreau becomes a hindrance later, his contract is easy to bury in the minors, buy out, or maybe even move for relatively nothing
