Thing is Campbells negative value is even greater. Anderson at least still looks good and could still score 20+ with McD. Campbell is just 5m that you remove from your cap as soon as you acquire him.

Catton definitely could be available there. Or Iginla.

There are 6 very good Ds that are all going top 10, that leaves 4 spots for F in the top 10 (Celebrini, Lindstrom and Demidov are locks which leaves the last spot to one of Catton, Iginla or Eiserman)

Not true. Campbell's buyout this summer is a total of $10.5 million over 6 seasons:
    2024-2025 = $1.1 million
    2025-2026 = $2.3 million
    2026-2027 = $2.6 million
    2027-2028 = $1.5 million
    2028-2029 = $1.5 million
    2029-2030 = $1.5 million

In contrast, Anderson costs $16.5 million against the cap if he plays for 3 seasons, or $11,333,333 if he's bought out this July, or $13,666,668 if he plays next season and then is bought out in 2025.

Why should Edmonton pay two first-round draft picks to take on a greater burden? Campbell alone for Anderson and Savard would be a favorable deal for Montreal, because Anderson isn't going to add substantially to Edmonton's offense playing on their third line.

because anderson plays on a nhl hocey team, and eats minutes
cambell soup eats his soup with a fork, in the ahl. and hes just stealing another kids spot

Minutes isn't the only thing he eats. Anderson is worthless to a team with an offense like Edmonton's.

Numbers don't lie. Campbell is cheaper than Anderson, and he isn't taking up anyone's spot on Edmonton's roster after July 15.

    Interesting take acquiring Pens 1st.

Have they said there's an appetite to acquire quantity with their quality pick?

Just fell like they might want to acquire quantity since they probably will lose their 25 first.

You know, I didn't compliment you on the brilliance of the Pittsburgh idea.

It's a pretty good chance that the 2024 first will revert to the Penguins and then they'll lose their 2025 pick. Given the holes in their draft dance card and the fact that their prospect pool is one of the five worst, your package is a very good idea for them. Congratulations!
