That Mitts deal, imo, right in the area it should be. And...

I've always been a fan of Mikheyev.

He is arb eligible, we have the right to do a 2 year arb deal...pump it up a little bit and buy a year of ufa.

I just think if you are gonna sign him make it long term. You are getting into the area where Tuch will need to be thought about to. The deal is probably pretty close if that's the years, just it's when it comes up.

Wouldn't you want to sign Mitts to a six year deal, something longer then three anyway.

This team lacks grit, who's dragging this group into the fight.

Should probably be cashing in some of their many prospects on some established players.

How many long term contracts should we have?

We have 5 players already who will start next season with 6 or more years of term.

I imagine other players out of the peterka/quinn/Benson/one of the goalies will sign longer term deals, maybe tuch too.

Not everybody can sign long term deals

'26-'27 gonna be an interesting year as Tuch will be up for an extension while a bunch of youngins will either have already come off of their ELC's (JJ, Krebs, Joker, Johnson, Levi) or will be coming off of it (Benson, Kulich and Savoie, amongst others)

Money, I don't like the years. He keeps playing the way he is. I don't think the Sabres will want a 2 year Arb award.

I need to see him get to the slot more often 5v5. His perimeter play is really bothersome to me.

Again. How many 6+ years contracts should a team have

Doesn't mean you can't trade a contract, if Novikov keeps progressing, Samuelsson becomes expendable.

mitts can eventually replace skinner at the very least. and i don't think there's anything wrong with having a long term piece under 6-7 million that can play up and down the lineup. if there's not a deal to be done for mittelstadt at the deadline, i think you'll see an extension for him long term at between the samuelsson contract and the thompson/cozens contract.

So we enter the season with 6 players, 1/3 of our skaters signed 6 years or more?
