Lol nice bait. I actually wouldn't mind Dube in Edmonton...

Idk imo you undersold Hanifin. Even though he is a UFA at yearend, he'd at least get you a 1st and a prospect. He's a good player (from an Oil fan). And based on previous deals for D we've seen at the deadline the Flames should really be in the driver seat.

I'd equate Lysell to a 1st, he's trending decently at the AHL level. Fits Calgary's retool timeline.

I agree, and hey I really like Lysell.

But we can't undersell how good of a player Hanifin is and how much he would impact a contender. That's Lysell and a 1st at a minimum.

As a Bruins fan, the best trade for both parties would be Lohrei + Boston's 2025 1st for Hanifin straight up.

Lohrei is a slightly higher end prospect and a bit more proven/older, but still ELC and just turned 23. Basically getting a top pairing/top 4 dman fresh out of the oven to replace Hanifin, along with a mid teens first in '25.

From a value standpoint I would 100% prefer to give up Lysell, but if Debrusk leaves in FA/can't get his game back and Marchand retires/declines due to age in the next year or 2, the bruins are absolutely ****ed.

I don’t feel the need to include Lohrei. Toss in a second and a prospect like Merkulov or Farinacci and that should beat other offers.

IMO, the difference between Hanifin and whatever FA we could acquire on July 1st is not going to warrant a price that includes Lohrei or Lysell and a first.

Now I could see Lohrei and a first if a good prospect who is not as good as Lohrei is coming back, but that’s a different equation.

I get what you're saying. I just think it's the perfect time to trade Lohrei because assuming we resign Hanifin, now the top 4 is set. Hanifin and Lindholm are paid top dog $, Lohrei would be a waste on the third pair, when we could be using Lysell for extra offense in the top/middle 6

The lindholm trade where you got a VERY late 1st, B+ prospect, cap dump, prospect who is trending towards not even getting an ELC, and a 4th??

Yeah.

NJD is happy to offer our 2025 1st (top 25 protected because there was 0 chance the Van pick gets higher than that), Bahl, Ethan Edwards, Vitek, and a 4th

For a rental, a first round pick is a first round pick you can’t minimize its value, a cap dump who’s just coming off a nearly 40 goal season who can easily recoup more value at the next deadline, and a solid prospect is around the correct price for a rental.

Bahl isn’t interesting as a prospect, a young guy like Holtz or Casey is much closer to correct value, and again if you aren’t willing to pay for him then he’ll get traded elsewhere and you guys will be outside the playoff picture looking in.

NJDs 1st is currently 15th overall. I believe it was you yourself who stated a LARGE drop off after pick 20.

NJDs 1st=Bruz+Van 1st

Kuzmenko will never come close to shooting 27% again. If you're that easily fooled by high shooting %s I've got a Michael Carcone to sell you from arizona.

Holtz and Casey are levels above Bruz.

In fact, at every level people choose Casey over Bruz.

In terms of draft position, role for the national development team, for michigan (Bruz didn't want to play with the big boys so went to go play against 16 year olds in the OHL), for the world juniors. Every time they're stacked up, Casey clears

I like Bruz. Hes a second year OHL D who’s putting up very good stats, but was left off the Junior National program. Curious to see how he does in the graduation to the AHL level. That clears out more than 1/2 the prospects

If the price is Lohrei and a first, I think I’d rather wait and see if he makes it to July 1st. I believe we are going to be in a much better position next year with free agency and would rather have the pick/young player available at the deadline next year vs this year

Lohrei as the 3rd LD would be a great asset as opposed to a waste
