Terrible use of assets. Barabanov isn't a need. Granlund is just another band aid for the 2C spot plus there's the cap to consider.

Gotcha. Yea after a little more digging I agree. I don’t see them finding a 2C replacement anytime soon tbh

Obviously this thread is a joke of sorts...however...Col isn't winning with only 1 good C. So....they gotta do something.

Most importantly they need to get fit and well. They can then maybe give RyJo the wings he hasn't had that he should have and he's been fine the last few games. He's still not the fastest but I'm wondering whether his achilles was still hampering him early on in the year as he looks a bit more comfortable now. I'm not too worried about MacK, Colton, RyJo, with Kovalenko coming over, Nuke back and possibly even Landy. Would I love them to add someone? Sure. But I'm also not overly worried.

The Avs trade is an overpay, but Granlund is an upgrade over Ryjo. Granlund's got 0.78 points per game this year compared to Ryjo's 0.37. Granlund scored 64 pts in 21-22. He plays pp and pk and is a leader. He currently has the most points on the Sharks. Worth a 2nd?

Granlund is an upgrade over Ryjo, but he's not a long-term solution. Avs should look for a bigger upgrade.
