Lol, kings are going to have to spend on a goalie eventually, but in this scenario there isn't a need to extend Ned, just a TDL deal alone.

Tampa and Colorado deals are terrible for pittsburgh.

NJD and FLA easily say no.

EDM says no, they don't have cap space to take on someone like Rakell

Vegas isn't going to send Howden back, they have enough space to just take Smith back, so if that happens it's smith for a pick and that's it.

I like the LA trade and taking a flyer on Kaliyev, they could use a 1B in net as well for a playoff run, idk that they'd extend but that's beside the point.

Eller didn't work for the Avs the first time so they are probably not going to sign up for playoffs and another year at 2mil ... insta NO on that part. And the if all the Avs want is some one to put up 4 points in a half a year and be a pylon, they have a few guys that will fill that roll that we won't owe another 2mill for 2 more years. Not saving cap, as only 4mill is owed to RYJO vs the 6 that will come with this deal (4mil next yr and 2 the next). We'll just stick with the garbage we have, thanks.

I'm sure they will spend on a goalie eventually, but they'd be better off just giving Rittich an inexpensive extension for next season. His numbers are just as good.

Talbot has looked similarly good since Hiller took over (including a standout performance against the Penguins), so I'm not sure why this would be an improvement as a rental.

Nedeljkovic has played exactly one season as a starter and that did not go well. If the Kings are going to give someone more than backup pay (~$1.5M), then it needs to be someone that has shown they can handle a starting load.

With the cap going up you'll need to prepare yourself to accept the fact that a backup is going to get more than $2M unless they give someone a Bob/Sorokin/Vasilevskiy type deal.

Again, I said they don't need to extend Ned in this deal.

Why trade for Ned at all? The Kings already have two goaltenders that are doing just as well. Talbot had a rough stretch, but is doing significantly better after getting a rest.

If the Kings are going to trade for a goaltender, it will be for someone like Charlie Lindgren that is already locked up next season for an inexpensive cap hit. They can run a Rittich/Lindgren tandem for a while, and call up Portillo to get some looks when the inevitable injuries happen.

Gonna have to be Pettersson 50% retained instead of Graves if you want that
