Why does the NHL hate the ducks.

Do they, or is it a coincidence?

The ducks seem to always get the short end of the stick, let’s look at the data.

The ducks have taken 5.48 penalties a game this season.

They have the worst penalty differential in the nhl by a landslide.

Since the ducks haven’t made the playoffs in 2018 here are there past 5 lottery goes.

2019: Fell one spot,
2020: Fell one spot,
2021: Fell one spot:
2022: Stayed at 10.
2023: Fell one spot.

I knew that the League had it in for the Ducks when they suspended Andrew Cogliano for one game for a hit which arguably shouldn't have been penalized at all, thereby breaking his streak of about 800 consecutive games played.

Corey Perry's unpenalized hack slashing John Gibson's stick out of his hand to permit Evander Kane to score a goal is Exhibit A. This kind of $h!t happens at least once every game -- simple and clear penalties that are never called.

To be fair, officiating in that game was horrid going both ways. Refs were missing so many calls you'd think they worked for NorTel.

We don't have the WORST draft luck in the league, but it's certainly up there. The penalties are a concern, especially when we continuously get ticky tacky ones and there's no parity in calling. Maybe we're just bad at getting away with it, maybe we're being targeted for Cronin's outburst.

At least the biggest risk of a dud prospect being drafted high was traded out for Cutter. Not saying Drysdale is or will be a dud but the man games lost were really starting to be concerning for his development.
