That's not getting Trevor Zegras out of Anaheim.

laugh And none of those UFAs are wasting their times on a bottom feeder. And Roy gets way more AAV than that.

Hanifin is fair. Roy gets more. Dont think they should go that way tho. Too early.

It might be fair, But bottom line that the offer would still be beaten by better players picks and prospects.

I wish this trade would happen, but Anaheim is not trading Zegras.

Hawks fans wouldn't even trade Kurashev for a 1st+. Same for Raddysh. You're adding a respectable dprospect in Crevier and a 1st + 2nd on top of that. Hawks are probably the ones passing on this one. And it's too early for any of this anyways.

Hopefully none of this is happening, aside from the Reichel extension. Vlasic is going to get significantly more than that. KD isn't dipping into free agency, and I doubt most of these guys even make it to free agency. Even aside from all that, there isn't a young up and coming NHLer I want less than Zegras. Reinhart and Guentzel would be great if we were ready to end the rebuild, but CHI is far from ready to add. All this would do is create roadblocks and likely get us stuck in mediocrity for a long time. Also, if CHI is gonna win another lottery, I think I'd rather it be the 2025 draft. Hagens is better than Celebrini, in my opinion. Or, at least, he is going to be.

Only one of those UFA's the Hawks might target is Tarasenko. And they won't be giving anyone a 7 year deal except maybe Vlasic on his new deal. If that's all it took to get Zegras, Hawks probably make that deal. But it's gonna take more than the Hawks are likely willing to spend.

I really wish I would stop seeing Zegras to the hawks on this site. Just simply not the type of player I’d want to bring in.

Extend the RFAs. Sign Nazar, Slaggert and Greene. Sign one good dman. Sign a short term winger. Sign a stop-gap goalie to give Commesso another year.

Keep the pressure off

Haven’t thought about that latter point. If they win 2024 lottery, I doubt they’d be upset…but, a 2025 would be nicer.

A team could trade down before the lottery.

Same here. I just don't like Zegras, and I don't think it is one of those cases of "you hate playing against him, but you'd love him if he were on your team".

Yeah. I definitely wouldn't be upset with Celebrini, by any means. He is an amazing player that I probably like more than Fantilli and Carlsson. But if I had the choice between the two, I think I like Hagens more. Going even further down the road, I might like 2026 pick Gavin McKenna even more than Hagens in 2025. haha. Plus, the cousins by marriage with Bedard, would be an interesting dynamic.

Hopefully by 2026 you all aren’t even thinking about the lottery.

Levshunov would be good there too.

Korchinski - Rinzel
Vlasic - Levshunov
Kaiser - ??

Probably would have all the hard parts (top-9 centers, top-4 dmen, goalies) locked up

Yeah. But the thing is, these kids we are drafting will still need to develop, get to the NHL ranks and then acclimate to the NHL and learn to play like a pro. I don't think it's very absurd to think CHI could still be positioned strongly in the draft lottery. But, I do believe 26-27 will be a target for CHI, since that will be their centennial season. Also, don't forget about Jones, he has a full NMC for 6 more seasons.

I have a feeling Del Mastro will pass Kaiser on CHI's depth chart soon, if he hasn't already. But yeah, Levshunov might be a nice pick. I think CHI has a bigger need for top 6 forwards, which we should be trying to fill as often as possible while our 1st round picks are still early. There should be plenty of very promising RD around the TBL pick and into the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Hawks will have to give up their own first round pick to get Zegras or add bedard into the trade
