I think pass for the sharks. It’d have to be a big over pay for him to leave because we dont have anyone that can do what he does and our offense is still a mess. Not having him would really hurt the development of our prospects so I think the deal would have to be really worth it.

Not a bad trade, although best time for BOS to trade for Hertl prob woulda been before he signed his 8 year extension

you basically replaced JD with Hertl while giving up quality assets sarcasm

While the top line is def better, feel like signing Lindholm on July 1st (if hes available) might be better (even tho id prefer they dont), that way they keep their picks and Lysell

Hanafin prob gets 0.5-1.5m more in AAV, but he and Walker would be good signings

Even Couture acknowledged Hertl has become Captian of this team! He is the perfect guy to Cary this team back in a few years. And while this deal is fair IMO, it leaves the sharks barren at C (yes we have Will Smith but to me he projects as a RW where we can utilize his offense and protect his defensive shortcomings, and potentially Celebrininor Lindstrom at the 24 draft, but good teams need to be deep at C and strong top 4 D with a good to great goalie. This weakens the sharks more than it helps them.

The package is pretty fair but don't think Grier pulls the trigger. It would be nice to see Hertl saved from the dumpster fire though and play with Pasta
