Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Dec. 1, 2023
Published: Dec. 1, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Boston might need to add a prospect, this was just my original thought but it could also be changed to have Lysell or Loheri in the trade somehow

Most realistic trade for Lindholm at 50% retained and Hanifin IMO is 2025 first round, Grzelyck, and Lysell
Trades
BOS
  1. Hanifin, Noah
  2. Lindholm, Elias ($2,425,000 retained)
CGY
  1. Frederic, Trent
  2. Grzelcyk, Matt
  3. 2025 1st round pick (BOS)

I think what was learned from the Zadorov trade is that they're definitely going younger and moving for futures, I don't think that Frederic would fit what they want to do, Grzelcyk to make money work is fine but Lysell/Loheri seem like they'd be the targets in a deal.

Yeah that's what I thought too. I was thinking based off the Zadorov trade maybe it doesn't have to be a large overpay. This is just one of the many possible proposals, but I'd say First round, Lysell, and Grzelcyk is the most realistic.

I'm confused. This return is for both Lindholm and Hanifin?

yep

There's no way they give up both their prized ufa for that return to one team. Re-signing them would be the only option if that was the return. Hanifin is much better and more valuable than Zadorov, in worst-case scenario, each guy yields a 1st+4th or 3rd, from two different teams. BOS doesn't even have a current 1st, and if they want both they would need to pay more. So, maybe they get one guy if they are super high on Lysell but I doubt it.

Nah, Zadorov isn't worth nearly as much as people were saying, it could have been possible to get more maybe if the market didn't have better defensemen like Tanev and Hanifin but and the end of the day that was pretty much his value, they didn't want to retain so that probably limited their options.

Cmon now.

Replace Frederic with Poitras and I think it’s closer, but still short what CGY can get if they separate those two players and trade them individually. The insiders are now suggesting that Hanifin will be a sign and trade, so the acquiring team isn’t getting a pure rental.

The BOS package presented here is not enough for Hanifin extended alone, let alone a retained Lindholm. And as mentioned above, the Flames are looking for younger players/assets. So Gryz and Fred don’t fit the bill.

I think they tried to save their retention slots for potential deals with Lindholm, Hanifin, and Tanev.

I could see Lohrei and a #1 for either Lindholm or Hanifin. My belief is we would have to add for Lindholm and I would expect something minor back if it were Hanifin.

Curious to see what happens

According to Conroy all the other offers required a player coming back, and his priority was to shed salary in the deal.
