Inspired by The Hockey News' Ken Campbell model (that ends after the 2018-19 season), I wanted to rank NHL teams based on the mathematical success they've had from 2009-10 to 2022-23.
Here are the calculations :
Stanley Cup = 30 pts
President's Trophy = 10 pts
Playoff appearance = 3 pts
Series win = 5 pts
Top 3 but not 1st = 3 pts
Team record during that span = proportional to rank (Ex. : 1st team gets 30 pts, 30th team gets 1 pts)
Last overall finish = -10 pts
Bottom 3 but not last = -3 pts
Playoffs missed = -3 pts
Seattle and Vegas aren't included.
RANKING
1. TBL (218)
2. CHI (206)
3. PIT (193)

Oil and Leafs fans are gonna hate this but good job
This took a while to do and the mods transferred it to another dimension within two seconds
I figured it would have, that's the main reason I said good job, the research and calculations alone would take hours if not days to do. I admire your passion and commitment
Oil and Leafs fans are gonna hate this but good job
Leafs were awful for the first half of the decade and couldn't get out of the first round of the playoffs for the second half. Not really surprising where they're ranked.
Not really... From 2010-2016, the Leafs have been awful and they've only won a series...
I wouldn't really call that a very good franchise
Actually between 2010 and 2016 they have 0 playoff series wins. Their 1st playoff series win before last year was way back in 2004. Most Leafs fans typically don't like anything that ranks the Habs higher (vise versa for most Habs fans too BTW), hence the comment.

I meant 1 series in the time span of 2010-2023...
and in the 2010s, the Leafs were rebuilding with Brian Burke as their GM...
