I wouldn't be surprised if Colorado is in one one of Calgary's dmen at the deadline (Tanev or Zadorov specifically), but I'd be really surprised if they moved any important roster pieces to make it happen. I get why the Flames would ask about Girard, but it would need to be futures for a deal to get done imo.

Somewhat agree.

COL has some cap issues in 24-25, so moving girard at 5mil ongoing and getting Tanev for this year (and cap space) and rolling forward with Toews/Byram/Manson/Makar is still a great 4.

For CGY its about "young-ish" options moving forward, playing the young guys, developing/bringing up their bluechips, adding draft capitol. And moving forward with weegar, anderson, girard (and not Hanifan if they deal him) is a nice enough defense to move forward with

Yeah pretty much this. They won't move Girard for a rental, it would be an off-season trade if he gets moved.

There would be interest in Tanev but very doubtful about Zadorov as he never meshed with Bednars system.

I can see your logic, but I'm nearly certain that cap moves will wait until the off-season (and any certainty on Landeskog).

The Avs will want to take their best shot at the Cup, which means keeping their important guys wherever possible. If Girard gets moves in season, I have to think it's only because they discover there is a big hole that needs plugged. At the moment, I don't see that as being the case.

Flyers have been playing surprisingly well but still aren't in a place to trade two young pieces and a first rounder for a pending UFA in their prime.

Not sure what these moves accomplish.

No prospects and only one 1st for a team that needs a reset in a big way.
