Until game 42 when they still can’t sign him and 31 teams gain even more leverage than they had right now lol

He is? That's stupid. NHL disasterclass. If you're gonna give a stupid suspension, at least enforce it correctly.

From what I read on TSN. The Sens could sign him and because of the suspension it wouldn’t count against the cap till he has finished the suspension. Then they could activate him.

So to refute the first quote. The Sens actually gain leverage in that the Sens accrue cap space while still being able to sign Pinto.

That's so stupid. Not signed, but games still affect his suspension.

Granted, I don't think he should be suspended in the first place considering that he wasn't even betting on NHL games.

I’m pretty sure that’s not how it works the Kings had to get a special exemption from the league because their player got suspended and he still counted against the cap

I believe that’s because it was for an on ice infraction. Because this is off-ice it doesn’t count towards the cap. Also, the December 1st deadline is waived so Pinto will probably sign when his suspension is done and go down and play in the AHL on a close to league minimum contract to get ready for next year. Thus he won’t even count towards the Sens cap.

It’s stupid. He is the exact type of person they target their 50 betting adds per game toward. A young college age kid. They don’t know how to properly handle their money. This suspension is not going to help him. He should be in the NHLPA player assistance program, to help get ride of whatever it was. Also the evidence published would probably not hold up in court. Breach of privacy with respect to the company that flagged his account action to the NHL as well.
