Description

Not a question of if but when Kleven replaces Brannstrom. (Question of size/strength + Sens have little need for Brannstrom's offence). Florida is in big trouble for first half of season due to injuries to their 2 top D and could use Brannstrom's offence. Therefore, a trade with both sides dealing from a position of weakness. Sens trade Brannstrom for Florida's 7th D Mike Reilly, bury Reilly's cap hit in Belleville and promote Kleven. Sufficient cap space is created to sign Pinto and operate a 20 man roster (12/6/2). With Pinto signed, Sens should then fire Dorion for his gross incompetence and patiently wait for an opportunity to trade Kubalik (or Tarasenko, if he will waive his NTC) when someone is suddenly in need of a top 6 scoring winger due to a long-term injury.

I’d say trade Forsberg

Soogaurd seems like a capable backup. Don’t want a repeat of Gustuvsson. It’s already going down that road since forsberg has 2 more years left on his deal.

This is something that people say when they have not watched the player. I would not be surprised if Forsberg ends up being better and more important than Korpisalo this year. Also goalies take a long time to develop, Sogaard is still way too young and that was shown last year. He would be an ideal backup for many many teams in the league. And he's on a great salary talking about Forsberg.

No thanks. Brannstrom is actually needed just as much in Ottawa because :

- Kleven is not 100% NHL ready, can’t wait that he is to do this and sign Pinto

- Brannstrom is the only guy who can play in the Top-4 when there is an injury and actually be good

- There’s a HUGE gap in hockey IQ, defensive awareness and quickness as well as transition ability between Brannstrom and any other Dmen Sens have after the Top-4

Simply trade Kubalik for the best pick you can get and be done with. He’s not as needed as Brannstrom and even Mathieu Joseph

Forsberg is actually good and will most likely be better than Korpisalo and was also the reason why Korpisalo came to Ottawa. They won’t trade him this season guaranteed
