Doubt the the out of playoffs, west coast Canucks would be on Pageau's trade list.

Nashville is gonna have to pass on this.

Nylander will likely be on waivers at some point this season and can be had for free. He has failed to establish himself as a NHL player.

Tomasino is the same age as Poulin and has accomplished more at the NHL level than Poulin has at the AHL level.

Novak may be suffering from an inflated shooting % but he is still the best offensive option nashville has down the center. Maybe come deadline Nashville may be wanting to go more towards full rebuild at which point maybe something along Novak for Pickering could be worked out. Either way the inclusion of Chistyakov and Tomasino for lesser prospects/players (not including pickering) is unappealing.

NSH declines and blocks your number. This is horrifically bad for them. NSH receives in exchange for two of its top young offensive forwards (and likely core part of its top 6 this year), a defenseman that they don't need considering the logjam NSH has at defense, a player who has only barely been able to break out of the AHL and a forward whose potential is that of a decent 3rd line center and a 3rd round pick?

Tomasino is not likely going to be available for trade given that he will likely be an integral part of NSH's rebuild, and I'm good for moving Novak, but I'll just wait for the TDL and get a late 1st or a 2nd round pick for him if he is on pace for 45-55 points.

Nashville is getting shafted here. Why are we moving the better players?

Not retaining for a 6th round pick in 2025. Highly doubt Buffalo moves Comrie unless a more established or a good 1A/B Option is brought in. He's a insurance policy in case UPL or Levi faulter.

I don't think this makes them that much better and we give up our 2nd best prospect in Pickering

That three teamer is awful for the Islanders. Pageau is their shutdown/PK 1 center, and Wahlstrom is a guy making a hair above the league minimum who was one of the team's top points/60 players last season. To swap that out for one player making more than both those guys combined in Boeser just doesn't make sense for a team that's at the cap ceiling. It sacrifices depth, it makes the team worse defensively, and adds a guy whose profile reads as Slightly Better Josh Bailey. There's no value in this trade for New York.
