I actually don’t mind this offer; with Vancouver retaining $1.25m and moving Entwistle’s $800,000 ticket as part of the deal, the net cap impact to the Hawks (if my math is correct) would be $1.2m.

Hawks get a 3rd and potentially a very flippable contract at the TDL.

I don't think salary cap impact means much at all to Chicago, as far as this deal goes. Getting a third round pick for that cap hit sounds fine to me. But they are not really making deals thinking about net cap impact.

Absolutely! The value has to there or they would reject the deal. Do you think Davidson would take on a $6m cap hit if all he was getting was a 5th round pick?
