Baby come back you can blame it all on me

Initial Creation Date: Aug. 6, 2023
Published: Aug. 6, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Thrun didn't want to sign with the Ducks due to the amount of talent coming through the organization on the left side, but he was the guy we needed to pair with Drysdale. San Jose meanwhile doesn't have anymore puck moving D, so straight swap with LaCombe?

Nah man!

He was drafted in the 4th and we got back a 3rd, solid solid management for a guy who told us he wasn’t signing.

Pretty sure he had told the Ducks he wasn’t going to sign, so they moved him to avoid getting nothing in return, am I wrong?

You are correct

Verbeek killed it there — got a 3rd rounder for a guy drafted in the 4th that said he would not sign, perfect business

We knew it to, we just couldn't get him to ink the contract after LaCombe signed his.

And sharks gave up a 3rd for an NHL ready young D not bad for either team.

Yeah sharks came out on top for sure. Ducks hands were tied. Probably smart of thrun too. So much competition in the ANA system at LD

feel like pure ****, just want Thrun back to anchor to bottom left pairing behind Zellweger and Mintyukov for a decade.

You guys got Mintyukov right out from under us! So I don’t feel bad swooping in a getting Thrun. Mintyukov was one of the 3 guys the sharks wanted (Cooley and Korchinski were the other 2) that’s why we had to trade back. Though that really worked out for the sharks so no hard feelings.

Zellweger would never get paired with Drysdale. Maybe Mintyukov will, but he's really got to work on the defensive aspects of his game if that's going to work. Thurn was the defense first D we needed for Drysdale.
