Why didn't you stick to a 23-man roster with the most expensive players making it into the line up (e.g Tavares over Barkov)?

Right? If we are doing it this way, then the most expensive roster would be made up of every active NHL player

Nicely put and I would go as far as to exclude Price since he's not actively playing even if his contract is active.
