Yes, I realize I'm making the sacrilegious trades on Brown and Martinez, but the D improves (Shattenkirk > Martinez) and we could free up enough cap space to add Landeskog and Shattenkirk. 3rd line improves once you get Gaborik back and you hope Kempe, Brodzinski, Dowd and the young D guys take another step forward.

Question is, would CO give up Landeskog without wanting Kempe in return? I'd still do that deal.

Also, this exercise is a brutal reminder of the sad state of our bottom 6...

Sabres are saving cap room for a reason, they dont have space nor need for Brown. Coupled with the fact no one in their right mind is paying a 3rd round pick or possibly more for Brown. LA is going to need to pay to dump him

You're trade is unreal. Sorry. Sabres would never accept to acquire Bronw and his awful contract. Even with Kings retaining part of his salary. There's only one solutiont to Bronw's situation. You Kings fans let the emotions aside and hopes to your GM buy out his contract. I'd do the same with the other terrible contract. Gaborik's.

Your team needs a drastic offense rebuild to be a winning team again. One as the one I made on my arm. Otherwise Kings will win a Cup again just in at least 20 years.

It's time to you Kings fan face the reality that your team is now nothing but a mediocre one and have ZERO chance to win my Pens or a team like Capitals or Jackets in playoffs. In fact, today Kings have no chance to even reach the SC Finals.

Brown has a NTC, so he wouldn't go back to hometownsmile. Every playoff team or near playoff team is close to the cap. Taking on a long term 5m for a unneeded player just can't happen.

stop being so salty just cuz i commented on why your attempt at fixing the kings was so bad... none of us kings fans care whether Brown is bought out or somehow traded, we just want him off the books... and to be honest, i wouldn't mind keeping him for this season and seeing if he can improve under a different coach and hopefully a different system of hockey. in fact, every team has a chance to reach the stanley cup finals right now, why because it's hockey, anything can happen. i don't know what your problem is with the kings but stop being so salty this website was created to give people the chance to have a little fun and make some moves that may or may not happen in real life, you don't have to be such an a**hole about it

I do believe Brown would hold value for a team like Buffalo, especially in terms of character and leadership, but I concede that my terms were a bit of wishful thinking. In all likelihood, they'd need to buy him out or put a lot more chips on the table to dump him. I'll try again with a straight buyout...

I will say though, a$$holery aside, our top 9 looks pretty tragic if Brown and Gaborik continue their current trends and the front office doesn't make any moves

That was why I was retaining salary. My question to you is, would you sign him for $3m a year? Team guy, good leadership, Cup winner, community service and all that jazz...

agreed but this guy was just bashing the kings all day and got mad cuz i tried to tell him a few things since I watch the kings 82 games a year + playoffs but he was stubborn and told me how i was wrong and how pittsburgh will beat anyone, which i really didn't care about

he literally got mad because i said if we trade for evander kane w/o conditional picks based on him resigning and he doesnt resign it would be the lucic situation all over again and somehow he got super mad and told me that i was dumb for comparing lucic and evander kane's values when i was talking about the resign situations...

then he tried to tell me that toffoli sucked and just kept bashing everything i said like i was the dumbest person alive, so i got pissed

there is a reasonable expectation that VGK/COL/LAK/BUF/PHI etc don't make it to the SFC. sure, there is a chance, but the realistic chance is so dismal that it isn't worth bringing up.

I will say, however, that while these trades may seem unrealistic, it is a good discussing point to consider whether someone would take on Dustin Brown for a leadership role.
