LOL. Imagine thinking you can get a 1st round pick for your reject goaltender.

1st round pick is too much for Sammy. 3rd is realistic. 2nd is possible. 1st is not possible.

Sammy played very well. Far from being a "reject". But definitely not worth a 1st.

Does Toronto intend to keep him as their goaltender next season, or are they "rejecting" him in favor of Woll?

He's the very definition of a reject, if not the vernacular insult.

They should be keeping Sammy. Sammy + Woll is how I see the tandem next year.

If Boston trades one of Ullmark or Swayman... are you calling the one they trade a reject?

I'd agree aside from the fact that a few teams need a goalie and there aren't any good ones in Free agency. Assuming Freddie goes back to Carolina, you have LA, Washington, Columbus, Vegas, Florida, Chicago, St. Louis and more who either need to trade for a goalie or turn to less than ideal situations. Sammy is an upgrade on anything those teams currently have (assuming he signs for $4M or under).

He's a Vancouver fan. It's not his fault.

He's used to seeing goalies abused by their coaches and run out of the league when a younger goalie challenges them.

Doesn't understand the idea of asset management. It's not really something they do in Vancouver.

Yeesh. Vancouver has had goalie controversies because Vancouver has had good goalies. Not sure who has been run out of the league in the last 20 years? Uncalled for.

Asset management though... What's that?

Fun game, goalie who kind of disappeared after they played with the Canucks in last 20 years; Ryan Miller, Brayden Holtby, Dan Cloutier, Jaroslav Halak, Mikey DiPietro*, Anders Nilsson, Eddie lack, Andrew raycroft, and I want to say Felix Potvin but he was more than 20 years ago.

Of that list, only Cloutier was a starting goalie and he played after Van. Most of those were guys at the end of their careers? They aren't run out of the league when they are 35+ after long careers... They are just done. Other than that... Lack sucked after leaving Van. Nilsson too. Could throw Raycroft in there. You could argue that Luongo and Schneider were run out of town, but they played very good hockey after. Van is not a goalie graveyard like TOR, PHI, or EDM

I agree they aren't a goalie graveyard. Since Lu came in, goaltending has been a strength until demmer got hurt last season. I just thought it was a fun exercise. Miller was most definitely a starting goalie in van, Eddie lack started the season before he was dealt. Holtby was supposed to be a 1b. Anders Nilsson was legitimately given the opportunity to win the starting job because markstrom wasn't a proven #1 in the NHL yet. I also don't think this is that unique to Van, I bet you could make a list for every team
