I'm not looking for Timmins to be a stud. If he can be a solid 2nd pair D man that's fine with me. Who knows, maybe he and Sanheim gel. Our D is going to be a mess as long as Ristolainen and Sanheim suck.
As for Robertson, we need some LW depth because we have NONE! The kid is 21 and has potential.
Agree somewhat, problem is timmins has been judged by 2 (and maybe 3 if TOR move him) teams as too weak defensively, and while he could still be something, second pairing is too much of a stretch, and Attard is probably almost as good an option. Id like to say PHI lacks high end talent, (and health), but foerster, tippett, frost, farabee, koneckny, and a healthy Couturier and Atkinson is a pretty good top 6, but i dont see a late 1st, timmins, robertson as good bets for top end.
As for Robertson, he sure has some talent, but his size and fragility is a major concern and hes been a non factor offensively in the nhl, which is all he brings. Just not sure either has enough value for PHI to take those long shots as valauble enough to take murray (whos buy out is not good in 2024-25) and lose laughton, 2mil in cap space and roslovic. The avenues for toronto in regards to murray are very limited, and Id say a 3rd in 2023 or even a late round 2nd is probably his dumping value, but leafs dont have either. They got timmins for a song and robertson's value after 3 pro seasons is less than his draft position (late 2nd) at best. (Never mind that TOR shouldnt be moving any youth, misfit toys or not)
Ultimately the leafs are giving up a major headache, a late in the round 1st, and two sinking prospects for a guy who brings more than pts in every aspect (and even then on a team that couldnt score he put up 40+ pts). Laughton alone gets almost all of that toronto package, never mind roslovic with retention.
Its just too much of a favour to TOR, and one that doesn;t benefit PHI much, just more of what they have: alot of youngish middle 6, bottom 3 youth. Brink, Attard, Foertser, Zamula, Andrae are already in system and probably better chances than robertson or timmins
