Yea so I doubt we would see the wings get both Konecny AND Lindholm in the same offseason, Konecny is the likely one if anything

I doubt we get either one tbh. But we certainly have the ammo to do so.

I think my trades are a little light tho. It’d probably take our higher 1st rounder to land Lindholm. He would be perfect for Detroit. And Konecny would likely require our other 1st this year. I’d still do both trades with the better picks and then some.

Bert's not coming back for that, I don't mind any of the targets of the deals I just don't see yzerman parting with his precious draft picks .

Yeah, Bert was fantastic in the postseason. I would imagine he gets around $6.5m a year.

If Lindholm is available and we don’t at least try to get him that would be a big miss. He’s built in the mold of Steve Yzerman when he played and he checks off all the boxes for what we lack down the middle.

Wings pass on all fa signings, gudas will get more is why, but he's fine at the right price.

Absolutely pass on Lindholm that's way too much.

No point in doing Kubalik trade, just do a pick instead.

Tk not giving up an unprotected first for him

It will 100% be the 17OA that comes back for TK if he gets moved to Detroit

I don’t think Gudas gets much more than that. I’d be very surprised if he gets $3.5m or more.

Bert contract is below market & Varlamov a 1b goalie on a 1 year deal - what’s not to like about those?

Kubalik deal nets us a RHD with offensive puck moving ability; don’t we need those?

I disagree on the “too much” for Lindholm. He had a down year relative to the year prior but, a selke candidate type player, at a position we desperately need a difference maker at, right handed, a versatile scorer/playmaker, and he’s just 28 (in his prime), this deal doesn’t even get him.

Add a top 5 protection on that pick for Konecny just for s&g.

I agree. I actually meant to do that but, I did the Lindholm trade 1st and accidentally chose that pick in his deal so, the higher pick was too much to give up for Konecny and I didn’t feel like starting over.

Haha all good I feel you on the starting over, when I make teams and mess up it’s so annoying

Good explanations, like your thoughts, I just differ on them is all, but at least you were smart about your reasoning.

My rebuttle is

Gudas will get overpaid after this playoffs more like ,3 years 3.5 per

Bertuzzi is always hurt and just not what wings need anymore, they need bodies in the lineup who can do stuff, ship has sailed on him

Varly is ALWAYS hurt, we need a stable guy who can play 35-40 games and give husso a break whose also consistent, vladar or something similar is a better play

We struggled the most with goal scoring and gave up one of our top goal scorers for Addison when a 2nd would work just fine and if we want to we can move kubs for a 2nd at the deadline. I would like to keep him in the lineup unless we upgrade and he has no place

Lindholm is too much for a ufa, think it would be 17 + one piece not all what you offered.

TK same,.17 + Albert or something similar.

Why do so many Wings fans want to trade Veleno? He showed flashes at the end of the season and he's been Canada’s best forward at the WC.

Skates as fast as Larkin and is one of the only guys that are ”hard to play against” on this team. We want to get tougher, but then we are trading him away like he's worthless to this team🤔

Breakout season coming. I could bet on that.

If not Gudas, I’d take another stopgap type player on a 1 year deal at RHD. I’m not in love with the player, I just really like his physicality and he’s a solid defenseman.

I could do without Bert but anything more than the figure I presented; I’d pass but only due to his physical brand of hockey which has the tendency to get the better of him.

I’d prefer to sign a FA goalie rather than continuing our annual surrendering of a 3rd round pick for a goalie.

I hate Dominik Kubalik. He’s a fraud and a terrible hockey player overall. I’d trade him for a 7th round pick. His shot is fantastic at times, but he misses the net and/or fans on his shots more than he hits the net and is abysmal in every other facet of the game.

I get the feeling you’re not really interested in making a significant trade. I think we need it.

He plays a very solid game. But he’s very limited in terms of his offensive potential and overall skillset relative to top 6 or top 9 players in the NHL.

He’s a bottom 6 forward; I don’t see him getting much better than he is right now.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

Oh I am, I have lots of targets I'd want, but only want to do a massive trade for an upgrade, like a Kyle Connor type. TK I think would be a sneaky good pickup too. I just don't want to put out some mediocre signings or players just to spend money. If Steve can do something big I'm all for it. I'd give up both our picks and more for Connor

I’d love Connor as well, but it’s possibly he would cost close to what it would take to acquire Lindholm & Konecny combined and he can’t play Center.

Haha, He definitely handled his own. I think he can eventually become a Sebastion Aho-like type player but I think we’ll have to have a little bit of patience for that.

That's a nice looking team. I'd happily pay those assets for EL and TK and also there's really been no violent objection in the chat (unless Chiarot sees this), so the value seems pretty close. We've really got the assets to bring in at least two significant Top 6 guys this offseason and I hope Yzerman pulls the trigger on it.

Yeah, I think I’m a little light on the returns for both those players but certainly doable. We will have $35m next offseason off the books to extend Seider($8.5), Raymond($7m), Lindholm($8.75), Berggren($3.5) & Rasmussen($4m). Those guys should cost around $31.5m altogether so that would leave us about $3.5m in cap space assuming the cap stays exactly the same.

We’d have another $5m free, giving us $8.5m in space if we could somehow unload Chiarot’s deal. I think the salary cap will go up about $3-4m in 2024-25 so we should even have around $12-13m to play with next offseason to potentially add even more.
