Your not going to get Murray with the 1st for FC, you'll have to send CHI 2023 2nd back the other way.

      TB doesn't entertain that.
      Toronto buys Murray out first.
      NYI Buy Bailey out first
      Vancouver wants more

I predict that Toronto doesn't give up the Boston first to get rid of Murray (even via trade-down) and that Los Angeles doesn't use the 2024 first to get rid of Petersen.

If Colton signs 3.6 in Chicago 3.1 probably does it in TB and they keep him.Tampa Bay and their obvious indifference to picks make this an utterly unrealistic return. Show me one trade Julien Brisebois has made as TB GM where he traded an established player away to get picks?
Yeah looking at that LA trade doubt that too.

If you are going to go full on redonkulous...why not insist on the Tampa 1st for the privileged of Murray because that is about as likely as the Hawks taking that Murray contract to move up like 7 spots.

Chicago literally did the same trade last season for Mrazek. I'm all for screwing the Leafs, but lets be real here, they would take the buyout before paying an entire first to dump one season of him.

Last years trade moved up 13 spots in the draft, added a goalie where the Hawks had none under contract at the NHL level, and was part of a new GM scorching the earth by making 3 trades into the 1st round. You're proposing moving up 7ish picks to a team that has 4 goalies under contract and already has burned the village. If you want to replicate the Mrazek trade, the Ottawa 2nd is the comparable. If you want to look at realistic given the situation is different in a few ways, the Tampa 2nd or more likely NYR 2nd is the best you are going to get.

The only team that MIGHT make those trades is the Isles. Tampa, LA, Toronto and Edmonton all say no thanks. And Hawks don't use those picks for Boeser. And Gavrikov doesn't sign for that. He probably gets double that at least. Hawks won't pursue him anyway. Doubt the Hawks bring Toews back. That ship has sailed.

Yep as when u look at it Murray had better numbers and has less term with a cheaper buyout. Mrazek had 2 years of 3.8mill with a bad buyout

So if it took moving 13 spots to move Mrazek one could argue less for Murray

My dude, there's a LOT of village left to burn. And where are you getting 0 to 4 from? Dobby and Stalock are on expiring deals and you've got a couple kids kicking around in the AHL, that's it. Yeah, you got more for Mrazek because he had two seasons left, Murray has one. You get 20 games out of him, leave him on IR half the season, and you get to move up to select a better player in the draft.

No one's giving up a 23 1st to dump one season of a player, and no, Monahan is not a comparable trade to this situation, and that was a 2025 pick.
