Did you notice the retention? Clearly Canucks aren't doing that.

Even with the 1st Van doesn't retain that much for that long. If Van moves Garland they either take salary back for look for a move without retention. No extra dead cap with a potential OEL buyout in the near future.

Very unlikely pens get Compher with Landeskog done now, he's most likely signing in Colorado.

LA will most likely move what they need to sign Gavrikov.

I'd take Hill but guessing Vegas resigns.

Too much on Zucker and Pacioretty coming off more Achilles issues... nah

Some team might give you a pick for DeSmith but it won't be the Hawks

I'd absolutely 100% take the risk to sign Patches for a discount on a one year prove it contract.

Zucker is going to be somewhere in the 5-6M range. He's a UFA top 6 winger that just scored 27 goals in 78 games. Along with the forecheck and physicality he brings, this number is in the right ballpark for him.

Compher is a pending UFA and the injuries to the avalanche doesn't change his ability to test the open market, same thing goes for Hill & Gavrikov.

I'm not sure why people are acting like these players are restricted to the teams they currently play for.

They were going to retain on JT Millers contract OR take a bad contract back for him.......Yeah, I think they'll retain on garland for the 14th overall pick & a defenseman that fits their current strategy.

I'm not saying they're restricted, but Compher was part of the cup run, and knows they still have talent.

You have to factor in he wants to try and stay and go for another cup with that core and with landy out he knows he can get better money there now rather than taking a cut to stay. (or going elsewhere).

Vegas could make the cup, so why would Hill not want to stay?? Specially if they give him a good contract.

Zucker is great, i'd love to have him back but he was also injured the last two seasons, so imo that hinders a hefty contract for me.

First off Smith is not a good fit. Undersized offensive dman. But more importantly Canucks management doesn't want futures. And are up against the cap with contract renewals coming for Petey and Hronek. There is no way they're taking a 2.5 mil hit for 3 seasons. It's not horrible strategy for a rebuilding club but the Canucks have said over and over they wont rebuild.

Also there is no chance they were going to retain on 7 yrs of JT Miller. You got some bad info on that one.
