Horrible deal but in fairness at least now he's still an RFA. Tampa can probably get him on a low AAV at a decent term and they're quite good at getting results out of young guys with good tools. I'm not sure he'll ever live up to THAT price but I'm sure they'll have an effective contributor for a few years with him.

Tampa won't trade Jeannot. They gave up the kitchen sink for him and JBB isn't eating that turd sandwich. Meaning GM's hate admitting when they made a mistake.

Now Tampa fans will tell me it wasn't a mistake at all. It was the greatest move ever. Stop it.

I'm not suggesting that Tampa will trade Jeannot.

I'm just suggesting what I think is his actual trade value.

he had 24g and 41P last year, Tampa though maybe he was Hagel 2.0 but the fact he only had 5G and 14P in 56 games before trade should have been a massive red flag, great trade for NSH
