Description

I think having Luukkonen and Levi pushing each other would be great. Only problem is we can't go into the season with these two and expect to make the playoffs. So I had an idea. Get a veteran (Reimer) to play some games while Levi and Luukkonen fight it out for starts. When one starts, the other is in Rochester. Ideally the split between the three is along the lines of 30/25/25. So they get a decent time to play, but arnt sitting around for half the season.

The little green arrow disagrees. I wouldn't say they are "so done" with him. Hes shown good flashes and bad flashes. Hopefully in the offseason they can coach that out of him. Would I be surprised if hes moved? No. Would I be surprised if hes dumped? Yes.

That arrow is for this year, next year he wont be eligible. Check it out on the waiver calculator. In the cross section of Seasons and Remaining youll see it says "Estimated waivers required beginning: 2023-24"

He hasnt appeared in forever, and isnt even backing up anymore. I dont think theyll dump him , but he wont be back.

I expect the Sabres to keep Luukkonen and Levi as the tandem next season. If they bring in a solid defensive partner for Owen Power and a defensively responsible center, goaltending numbers will be better just by default. If they were going to trade him, they would have to be getting value in return. I don’t think they would want Comrie as part of the tandem next year, and I doubt they would move both in the same off-season.
