Debrincat isn't really the type of player Yzerman wants (aside from goal scoring prowess).

I don’t think the Sens would go for this .

Remove the 2nd and Zadina and add Mazur and I’d do it

Yeah you would but Yzerman wouldn't. Mazur + '23 1st (NYI) for DeBrincat and the keys to Parliament Hill and maybe Yzerman accepts lol.

For the right price i think Yzerman would be all over this.

Now at that price Detroit declines.

Is there common ground in between the 2 offers?

The issue with Cat is that his biggest thing is scoring goals as he doesn't add much help elsewhere. So, in a down year at scoring goals (not the 40 goal scorer he's now being compared at), he isn't going to get the same value as last year... But in extension talks, he and his agent will obviously ask for more than what his worth from his production last season. This isn't the season Dorion hoped for and the summer of Dorion hasn't gone as planned...

I don’t think so. The Sens want to make the playoffs next year and also be set up longterm. Trading cat for a mid 1st and a bottom 6 guy doesn’t really do anything . They need to fill 2 holes

for Det to get cat from OTT it will cost DET 2023 1st+, no way a team is trading a 40 goal scorer, in division for pennies on the dollar.

I agree the offer in this ACGM isn't going to get it done. I was saying is there common ground say half way between your offer and this offer listed above.

I’d rather a 2nd over a B prospect. For it to be worth it , it has to be someone a bit better like a Mazur

1ST , 2ND and Perron seems like overpayment IMO.

How about Sebrango/Hanas and the NYI 1st?

The problem is no trade like that makes the Sens better in the next 4 years

Probably the best offer they get, but not what Ottawa wants. Problem is the qualifying offer of 9 million I think, plus whatever Cat wants in his next deal.

That's fair, I was just thinking Hanas as the middle ground in-between since he looked very solid as a prospect this season. Sebrango as a LHD prospect which is excess. I agree that offer would most likely be beaten out.
