I posted a similar WAS trade, but I didn't realize at the time that WAS currently holds the #11 pick. That's too far of a jump for taking on Mantha. YES, I agree he's a cap dump, but moving up from #44 to #11 is ALOT. I could see it if KD was high on a guy that was available at #11 he could move the #21, but I'm not even sure the #33 gets it done. Who knows? WAS probably wants that cap space to sign a guy like Tarasenko or get Orlov back.

With point percentage it’s 9th overall.

      It isn’t worth it.

No, they're almost mathematically eliminated already. Not technically there, but even if they win out...they'll have 89 points which won't be enough to make the playoffs. Too many teams to leap frog. PIT needs to win 3 games to eliminate WAS and PIT still has CBJ, CHI, and PHI on their schedule. Yes, the games still need to be played, but seems like PIT's going to win those games.

Tampa doesnt have a need to move Seabrook's contract, if anything they would probably just do a 7th or prospect they dont plan on bringing in for future considerations

They aren't required to move him to make Day 1 cap, but at the same time...having him on the books doesn't allow TBL to accrue cap space during the season. The ability to have TDL cap space would probably be a nice thing? I'm not sure a 7th does it.

I like most of these, but not a fan of using one of the 2 remaining retension spots to retain peanuts on Dickinson and get only a 5th for it. Tyler Johnson if he can stay healthy or Murphy give you a chance of retaining a decent chunk and getting something that moves the needle more (plus what ever Domiesque 1 year UFA signing you are hoping to rehab into deadline flips).

Not a fan of getting Reilly...even with a 4th as he just fills a spot at the one spot where we actually have prospect depth bursting at the seams....LHD. A 3 million cap hit with 4 million in actual salary should be closer to a 2nd (especially with that being almost a 3rd for Boston anyways) than the Boston 4th which we might as well call a 5th with as late in the round as it will be. Boston should just buy him out or find a dance partner that actually has (more of) a need for a bottom of the roster LHD.

That Washington trade unless they move significantly off the #11 pick is just too much. If they end up in that range....maybe the Tampa first and something else (one of the lower 2nds or a third?)

Not a fan of Seabs coming back (although I am warming to the idea of if you really want to suck, spending the cap space on him is better than on guys that actually might help win some games). That Chicago 4th is likely one of the first ones in the 4th so not nothing I guess.

theyve been fine without accruing cap space for the last few years. would it be nice to add a little more? yeah. but at the same time i just dont see them paying more than a 7th or a prospect like Shalagin or Taylor to move that Seabrook contract
