Worried we've waited too long to pull the trigger on trades. If Verbeek gets more 1sts this year, it might be for someone unexpected to move, like Terry.
I know there's an arms race on but it seems like the buyers may have loaded up on what they're going to pick up.
Edit: we weren't going to have a great TDL anyway with the assets we had to sell. Shattenkirk and Klingberg have both played well below expectations this year and it makes more sense to keep Henrique on the roster than to move him. Stolarz hasn't been great this season either, and while Kulikovs done a fine job, hes not a major asset either. I think the off-season is going to be bigger for us.

I think it’s too late. You’re right
Yeah, I'm probably on the same page when it comes to "We missed out". Not that I think there's necessarily anyone who would have given up a 1st for one of our guys due to the Eakins effect, but seeing Ghost go for a 3rd pretty much sets that end of the market.
Might be unpopular, but I'd like to see us try to keep Klinger now on a Barrie-type contract (3 x $4.5). Not sure that's realistic, but when he's deployed properly, he's fine, and insulates Drysdale's return next year.
All that being said, last year I was feeling the same way leading up to the deadline, because we still had Rakell/Hampus leading up to zero hour, and Verbeek managed to pull that off. I'm not sure how much I want to blame him right now, but if you keep a coach that has zero defensive strategy, you can't expect your dmen to look anything better than "meh".
Let's go out and get a couple of mid-round picks for the Kulikov/Shatty-types, then re-organize with a new coach.
