This isn't beating NJ, Car or even But offers. Very low.

This would be an offer to a team like TOR in the offseason. They used him, played him, and can't pay him so are recouping assets. It won't be for as much as you guys get.

I think this is the right approach. The current team is not winning a cup this year, even with Meier, so no sense in getting into a bidding war with contending teams. It would be smart to take advantage of cap strapped teams in the offseason.

In that case I'm fine with no Meier. 👍

And san Jose will be fine keeping their 45 goal 26 yo instead of taking back scraps like this trade

If people read they'd know this isn't even a trade with SJS. It is a trade with a team that acquires him and can't afford to keep him.

Detroit should get him this year at the TDL if they are close enough to the wild-card spot. Sneak in last minute, offer a good prospect+2024/2023 1st+ Zadina

Some don't even if you put instructions to read in the title.

Not sure that's enough even with Edvinsson or Kasper and I don't think the Wings are interested in moving either of them.

Who is more likely to be the 2C between Rasmussen and Kasper? If it's Kasper then I think they should offer the other, maybe they have other good prospects too. I don't think teams have to offer their top guys. Zadina's value is hit but he might be a better sweetener than others can offer he should be good. Detroit could also offer up one of their goalie prospects, the guy behind Cossa. That's something that SJ wants.

Kasper for sure. Rasmussen is a beast on the wing and just ok at center. Our goalie prospects are butt cheeks other than Cossa. I don't think they have the value needed to beat CAR and NJ.

Couldn't this be an option as well? One of Johansson/Wallinder/Mazur+ a 1st + Zadina + a goalie prospect (if they are interested in any other than Cossa lol). If they have to though they can be more aggressive and offer Rasmussen+ a 2024 1st + Zadina. I think that can be very competitive. Teams aren't necessarily trying to give up their best prospects, so they can probably outbid even NJ unless they go all in, but at least they tried. Carolina will definitely be conservative with their offer, it will have to make sense and depends on getting more information such as extension #'s.

I'd do that personally. Use some of our LHD depth to get a good player. I think me being comfortable with it as a Wings fan tells me it isn't enough. Needs more Quality, less Quantity. Maybe the Rass version does it.

SJ is open to different types of offers, Detroit, might not get the winning bid with the 1st but it won't be ignored. I think if Grier starts allowing teams to talk to Meier, then Detroit can be in, or if they creep into the wc spot.
