    JR and Allvin already said that they're not retaining on Boeser. And retaining $1,000,000 for 2.5 years is going to cost more than a 5th round pick.

    I think the Canucks would absolutely take this, even if they hate the idea of retaining.

    I think the Wild can actually make the $1M more for the less retained on Boeser ($4.4M) going forward and the Yotes would need more than just a 5th for 2 more years of retention. Arguably that is too much to give up for a retained Boeser anyway, right now he is not seen as a positive asset. Drop the pick or make the prospect not an A-tier (1st round selection) and it makes more sense.

    I don't think that true. They said they'd retain if the price is right.

    First off according to Russo, Guerin doesn't want Boeser, And he's not including Lambos for him that's for sure.

    He's negative value with that cap. Of course they would prefer not to retain. If not, they're taking back cap

    The problem with this trade is they are doing both, If they retain that much on Boeser they can move him without taking a contract back.
