Barbashev and O'Reilly for a second and Sandin? (Kerfoot is a nullity to them.) Hardly seems like enough.

Kerfoot could always be moved for another pick or signed to an extension.

Then go right ahead. But a trade element that requires an additional event isn't a positive asset to the receiving team, because neither of those possibilities has materialized yet; it's just a throw-in/throw-away.

not necessarily. An extension could happen as part of the deal. Either way there is value to Kerfoot.

Sandin is a young stud, and given the season ROR is having, I'd say he's more valuable than both of them combined.

That being said, Toronto does not make this deal.

Dubas needs to win or he's out. I can see almost anything on the table. I really think one of Sandin or Liljegren will be made available for the right deal.

I haven't seen Dumba play lately, but he's been scratched for performance reasons. I wouldn't trade Holl for him.

If you removed barbashev and the 6th I could see the Blues considering it. Would be much more useful just to trade ROR for a 1st, but if this trade minus barbashev and the 6th is the last thing on the table maybe it would be enough. Only issue is the Blues have a glut of LD that are already at the NHL level signed for next season.

Impressive, you managed to get O'Reilly, Barbashev, Dumba, JvR and 10,25 million in retention without losing your 2023 1st round pick.

Losing either of them makes the Leafs objectively worse, both short and especially long-term. Especially if the answer is Dumba.
