I think this may be the beginning of a decent structure, however there are two pieces I would say the Canucks would push for if they were trading Demko:

1) they wouldn't trade a draft pick - it doesn't make sense to bleed more value, and isn't necessary here; and
2) If they are trading Demko, I think they have to be getting a good goalie prospect back, and likely one that is fairly ready for some NHL time. I think UPL would have to be in this trade to make them even consider it.

Buffalo, having 3 goalies on our 23 man roster would obviously have to include a goalie.

UPL would make sense if, IF we were to acquire Demko.

Krebs and jokiharju would not.

Sabres aren’t gonna want Demko
We aren’t looking for a goalie anymore

At least this trade proposal isn’t quite as ridiculous as the ones that are usually posted involving Demko to Buffalo

Thing is: we just aren’t looking for a goalie anymore

Thanks anyways, but we’d pass

This Demko nonsense is ALL media driven. The Canucks have no more interest in moving him than they do in moving Pettersson or Hughes. I'm sure there are teams calling on all three, and anyone can be traded, but it'll take a King's ransom to get one of those three out of Vancouver right now.

Given what the market is sounding like, I doubt they move Schenn at this point. Maybe as we get closer to the deadline, but I don't see him going anywhere for a 3rd round pick and a C level prospect. Canucks want him back next year.

Retention on Boeser is unlikely unless the deal really favours the Canucks. Probably gets done in the summer. Again, maybe as the deadline closes and teams that haven't been able to swing a deal for a winger get desperate...

Myers, after July 1 at the earliest. I could see them keeping him until the 2024 TDL.

I think Garland will get another shot with Tocchett running the bench.

All in all, I'm sensing a lot quieter TDL for the Canucks than the media are suggesting. Maybe guys like Burroughs, Dries or Dermott.

We’ll give you our 7th pic if you stop trying to dump Demko on us. We wish him good health and many good years in Vancouver but stop your bullying. Please!!
