I don’t know there is a player in NHL that could be traded in one-for-one for Hughes that would satisfy NJ.

Seriously you would take Jack Hughes over Brayden Point or Leon Draisatl? Really Come on now

Hughes is easily better than those two McDavid is the only player I would trade Hughes for.

You have to understand that in a cap room, that term and price has a massive value to allow for other talent on the roster vs Point's contract and Leon nearing UFA, right?

🙄 Hughes ,80 ppg career Point .91 and his 1.03 ppg in the playoffs hmm I'll take Point. Until Hughes proves he can be the man in the playoffs and until you do it you can't I'll take the 2 time cup champ who was a major reason for those 2 Cups

I’d love to see what Jack Hughes could do parked on Kucherovs line..

Yea, I went back and fixed the message, meant to just put that for Drai. But at $9.5, going from 26-34 vs Hughes 21-29, Hughes has more prim years there at a lower cost, doing extremely well without a linemate you could probably name.

He's played with Bratt, Mercer Haula Palat Are they Kucherov? No but the list of players who are is extremely limited less than a hand full.

So he was at a .86 ppg in 21 when Kucherov didn't play a second. Kucherov doesn't make Point

He hasn't played with Bratt much of the season. He's mainly been with players like Haula, Tatar, Sharangovich recently. Mercer will bounce back and forth, but with that level of volatility, it's not like he's been gelling. This would be the whole reason why many want to get Timo Meier just so he has his partner in crime as the Palat-Hischier-Bratt line seems hard to breakup.

Palat was a great signing. I know the injury sucked.

Oh, I've loved Palat. Was it a bit too long? Sure, but that's why I don't generally like free agency and like to build from within.

I've heard Devil fans complain about his price and term, but I count on him being a factor in the playoffs.
