Different take of Krug-Landy

Description
I saw someone post a Krug for Landy deal yesterday, this is what I think the B's should do if they ended up doing that deal.

I'll apologize to Brekel now if he hates this. I wouldn't want the B's to do this trade, just wanted to see what the team could look like if they did.

In exchange for Landy; we give up Krug, who is what they want Barrie to be; Vatrano, an inconsistent scorer who has the potential to be a 15-20 goal a year kind of guy; Cehlarik, who in very limited playing time showed he is ready for the NHL and brings good size and ability to the wing; and Zboril, a highly rated LHD prospect who has shown both flashes of brilliance and moments of immaturity in the minors.

To cover Krug's departure, the Bruins sign Alzner to a 6 year $6 mil deal. They also play Killer on the left as he has shown he can comfortably play both sides.

Once Chara is gone, Lauzon, Gryzelcyk, or Lindgren would most likely be the next man up.

Pasta signs an identical deal to Marchy's 8X6.125 and stays on Krecji's RW.

We give Vegas a 3rd in next year's deep draft to take Beleskey.

McQuaid goes to Dallas as they could use some back end help, especially on the right side.

Spooner and Morrow get send to Van for mid round picks. Both most likely won't have a spot next year with the youth the Bruins have ready to come up, so they might as well get some value back for them.

DeBrusk comes up to Bergy's RW (where I've seen him projected by CSNNE) and hopefully brings his scoring touch with him.

Landy goes to Krecji's LW and brings a big talented winger who can hopefully regain his 20 goal a season ability.

JFK and Bjork start on the 3rd line with Backes there as a very smart veteran mentor.

Accari and Nash return on the 4th line. They had great chemistry towards the end of the year, and I hope that continues into next season.

Not a Bruins fan, but I think the B's lose that COL trade badly. I don't think I'd even swap Krug for Landy straight up.

I'm not trying to be mean here but a top 4 defenseman, a young player with lots of potential, a top prospect, another prospect, and a 1st round pick all for a good 2nd/3rd liner? I disagree with this trade but that's just me.

I agree with both of you, this isn't a trade I would want to happen by any means. This was just my take on a trade I saw in an earlier post, and how the B's could possibly cover their ass on the back-end if they went through with it. Zboril and the 1st would definitely be overkill in my opinion.

Way to much for Landy. 1st + Vatrano + Zboril + mid pick/prospect and that's it.

I don't know how to gauge the value of Krug due to the fact that I personally do not think of him as a top pairing defenseman like he is being paid.
I like the idea of the B's getting Landy, and Krug does fit the mold of what the Avs want. Also, its nice to see something different every now and then, even if it is very unlikely.

    Also I proposed a Krug/Landeskog deal earlier.

Far too much for Landeskog......might even be too much without Krug so not sure why you have him in that mix!!!!

If you were to offer that much from Bruins, add Barrie and a high draft pick next year 1st or 2nd....
    I
But realistically?......I don't think Bruins mgmnt feel Krug is expendable right now to begin with

I don't see Sweeney doing anything crazy, I know its fun on this site to talk blockbusters, but reality shows a different picture, that being said, there will be more activity this year because of expansion, but I doubt too many huge blockbusters.....

That is a gross overpayment for Landeskog. Extremely gross...Like worse than what the other guy offered. Trading Krug for Landeskog is a brutal move. You cripple the defense here, for now and the future offering BOTH Krug (Now and future) and Zboril (potentially future). Colorado takes this and runs giving you no chance to reconsider. No more Krug for Landeskog deals. It's just not going to happen.

A little over $5 million in considered top pairing money? BTW take a look at his numbers and advanced stats, you'll be surprised at how well he actually played. I know points are not the be all end all, but the kid was top 10 among d-men in the NHL in scoring and was 2 points shy of being top 5 among d-men.
