Freidman just said on HNIC that Tampa was interested. Maybe ask Brisebois what he thinks.

A 2nd and Powell for a guy who will play less than Bogo is laughable.

1-for-1 trade: Foote for Schenn would be fair.

I think I’d be ok with taking a chance on Foote.

But lol just cause you’re not interested doesn’t mean your team isn’t

Excuse my brevity. I meant no interest at that price.
Schenn is an obvious upgrade over Foote and Fleury.

Canes absolutely aren't interested. Horvat is a bad system fit, he's going to cost way more than he's worth. There are better players to fill the void.

Oh and just because people are linking Horvat to Carolina doesn't mean anything. Waddell has already come out saying the aim at the deadline will be depth pieces, no big splashes. Maybe pay attention to what other GM's around the league want.

Or maybe Friedman is getting information from Vancouver to put out trying to drive Schenns price up. Schenn isn't worth a 2 or Powell certainly not both . He was a guy who's healthy scratched more than 50% of the time in the regular season the 2 years he played here and almost 70% of playoff time. That same thing would happen again. Keep him!!!

I never said that dude. I think a Schenn for Cal Foote swap is beneficial for both sides.

We can agree to disagree on that. I'd rather the RFA over the 33 year old TB let walk for nothing.

Schenn is worth a 2nd or comparable value. I could see Tampa offering Foote and a very small add perhaps, but I think Tampa probably wants to keep their '24 2nd unless it's part of a bigger deal.

That's fair but I think that Carolina has been a contender for a while and it's time they pushed their chips in for a big fish. I think Horvat is a good fit and can add some elite goal scoring to a team that could use more talent.

Canes have already outlined that they will not spend big on rentals. They picked up Burns and Pacioretty in the summer, two big time players. Horvat doesn't help the team right now. With how the roster is set up, he's not going to be solid enough defensively to displace Staal on the most used line, he's not beating out Aho, so that leaves Kotkaniemi, who might be the Canes hottest player right now, and the 4th line. It doesn't help. It's all great saying "it's time they get a big fish" but this ain't it. Chychrun is a much more likely target, primarily because he comes with term.
