Canucks won’t move Mikheyev so soon after signing him. He’s been a great fit so far. Even if they were to move him, they aren’t retaining for 4 years and adding Schenn while only getting a late 1st back

Mikheyev in the playoffs did nothing. Both his goals were ENG.

If Im trading a 1st I want someone who we know is a playoff performer and that can make an impact

    Tarasenko is a good example

Canucks arent retaining on a contract that they just signed, especially not for a player that is fitting in well and we have no need to move

Never mind whether Vancouver would trade Mikheyev or retain on him -- Anaheim wouldn't take a third for paying about $4.5 million in retention over three seasons, and wouldn't retain at all because the Ducks will need all three retention slots for the players they're anticipated to be trading at the deadline this March.

You think a third party team will retain 25% for ONLY a 3rd?! Funny

Mikheyev scored at a 30 goal 50 point pace last year. He is on a 26 goal 55 point pace this season.

Retaining on a contract for a player like Mikheyev is so dumb, doing so for 4 years is insane

If the leafs wanted Mikheyev, they'd have signed him

No chance Leafs do that; no need for schenn & soup was good player but nonexistent in playoffs. ‘nucks overpaid for him and no way they’d retain for 4 years
