Before I get ripped in the comments on how this is nowhere near enough for Ovi by Caps fans, think about what YOUR GM said. He said he would consider a hockey deal. A hockey deal is one that is player(s) for player(s) that immediately makes each team better.

With that being said... The Capitals, although not getting the best scorer in the NHL right now, are still getting Jeff Carter who can put up some great numbers. Not to mention they also strengthen their defensive core with Martinez, because by the looks of things, they may not be able to re-sign Alzner, and 90% sure will not re-sign Shattenkirk. Martinez is also good because he fits the win-now time frame. Clifford is in there to help with depth for the caps (I don't follow them so I don't know what their depth forwards are like) So the caps get a great scorer and a solid Dman and the Kings get the super scorer.

Now for the Kings side of things. Obviously they get Ovi here, but replacing Carter would be the big question mark. I think Martin Hanzal fits the bill. Big strong center, 20-goal scorer, now gets to play with Toffoli and Pearson, maybe gives him a boost.
