I see no scenario where the Wild trade Brodin at the deadline, much less for that return. That's actually pretty insulting for what he is and the contract he has. The Penguins additions will be either: very low cap hit due to their space available, or possibly a medium sized move if there's significant LTIR available that won't come up before the playoffs.

There is no way MIN moves Brodin.. he would cost MUCH more.
Chicago probably holds out for a better return. I also dont see the need to move MP28.

Massive overpay for Patrick Kane @ $5,250,000.

And no way is Bill Guerin eating $12,000,000 on Jonas Brodin for the next 6 years for those scraps.

Everybody's complaining but Minnesota had more than enough nhl level defenseman before the season began and now Addison is breaking out for them on top of that. Who Minnesota fans use to complain about too when penguins fans would use him in trades on here in the past. Its a fine trade for brodin. He's not worth more than kane. Someone might overpay for him though if he is moved just cause theyre desperate doesnt mean i would. Everybody crolies too much on here and always say its an underpay but in real life no one was giving 3 firsts for debrincat

Overpay? The only good piece going to the hawks are the picks and they barely cover the cap dumps the hawks take on in this deal. Hawks decline very easily

Sorry meant to say massive overpay in garbage, There's zero chance the Hawks would ever accept an offer like that for Kaner.

Let me get this straight. By your logic. Because the Wild had too many defenseman to start the season and had to move out one of them in order to make room for Addison, and his subsequent emergence, Minnesota should move out their best defenseman and Addison's current D-partner?

Are you trying to be that stupid or are you just trying too hard to be a troll?

Because Minnesota would move out every defenseman and defensive prospect they have; including both Addison, Faber, Lambos, the entire kit and cabootle of our defensive prospect pool before trading Brodin.

Since you are seemingly unaware of who Jonas Brodin is. Let me enlighten you. Jonas Brodin is an elite defensive defenseman on par with other defensive defenseman in the league like Charlie McAvoy, Jacob Slavin, and Adam Pelech. In short, he's one of the few defenseman in the league who can make Connor McDavid look human.

Given that knowledge. You just sent a cap dump in McGinn, a bust in Nylander, and two 2nd rounders for him. One of which is two drafts out and the other is FOUR drafts out.

For an Elite defensive defenseman capable of shutting down McDavid.

That's an insulting offer, and one that would get turned down immediately. It's nothing, especially when you're asking a team to retain $2M for the next 6 years on top of taking that nothing offer.

We are (rightly mind you) saying that your trade proposals are not based in the best logic. I can understand you saying that they may have a logjam of defensemen. But, if they were going to trade a defenseman this year, I really doubt it'd be the guy signed long term for a good contract versus a pending UFA (Dumba?) or 1 year left and even then, the Wild are trying to compete so what they are getting in return is nowhere near enough.
